Hey Richard! It's great that we are both NZers! I'm actually in the North Island too, Wellington. Your review for Bravery on a Hilltop was very much appreciated and well written. Yes, I have been working on new scenarios but none have hit the spot right now. I am happy to write for geniewiki. Let's hope it has a long life! -Bombar 18:33, 21 April 2006 (EDT)

I'll update the background as soon as I can. My host's FTP is having problems right now. --DiGiT

---

I'll check the wikilink thing out. I've seen it done before, I just don't know what they changed to enable it. Also, I think a better place for discussion of editing would be in the talk page of either the GenieWiki:Community Portal or Help:Editing. --DiGiT

Hylo, Richard.

Thank you for the welcome. And, since you wish not to argue with me about personal issues, I won't argue with you. ;-)

Thank you, and good day.

TarkanAttila (HeroPatrick) ;-)

Thanks for all the work you're doing! I had no clue anyone was actually still writing here. We all appreciate it! --DiGiT

Resources articles

I'm not sure if I understood that "Background" section you added into Stone and Wood sections (but not on Gold)... what is the purpose of that? And how come it was only added into 2 of the 4 resources?
By the way, I think AOE/AOK resources should not be put together with SWGB resources. Therefore, we should split the category "Resources" into "Resources (AOE/AOK)" and "Resources (SWGB)" or something like that. Cesar

Hey Caesar! The 'background' sections are for information about the resource in real life - they're similar to how AoK has a history section on each section. I would call it 'history', but it's more for information about wood, gold etc, not so much just the history. I think it's good to have a small section on the real-life facts about things like heroes, civilizations, wonders, and even resources. I'm sorry I didn't make it that clear.

I only added it to some articles because I only had time to. Feel free to do the same with the other articles if you like, but first we really need to get some info together to put in there.

Not sure about SWGB - what are the resources in that game? I don't see the need to put it in a separate article myself, though that can wait to see if someone actually writes about them. Richard 01:49, 9 June 2006 (CDT)

I actually can't tell which are the resources in SWGB: I've never played it.

Regarding the separation of articles: if you scroll down on the gold/wood/food/stone page, you'll see a link "Categories: Resources". Therefore I thought we should change it into "AOE/AOK Resources" and create another category for SWGB. Cesar

Forum Post

Well, rwilde already created a topic. Is that good enough? :-P Sorry for my absence. The culprits were discovering another computer game (sorry AOK!) and my reinstallation of Windows. --DiGiT

Civilization article

Have a look at this article. Do you think it's useful (read the talk page for more info)? Cesar

Moving Pages

Moving pages is now enabled. --DiGiT

Resources

I really liked the looks on the POREX page (in fact, I tried to create Pile of gold as close as possible). Should we use the same format (or one that resembles it) Mechanics/Examples/See Also/Links (if any) for the regular resources (gold, food, wood, stone)? Cesar

AI

I'd rather have a category named AI divided into several articles (constants, rules, parameters, facts, actions etcetera etcetera etcetera...) instead of a single article. The amount of facts and actions is way to big to be put into a single article. Therefore, I'll start creating a new category named AI and group articles inside it. Cesar

I know nothing on AoE AI scripting, but I consider myself a fairly good AoK scripter. I guess I'll create some stubs and then ask some people at aiscripters to help out. Cesar

Citing

I installed the Cite extension, so footnotes should be working now. --DiGiT

Registration Required

Well, I have a few reasons for leaving it the way it is. The primary one has nothing to do with humans, but spambots. Even small-time wiki sites like this one get spam-botted a lot, and it just makes it easier for them if non-users can edit. Another reason is that it makes record-keeping easy, so we can see someone's name for editing instead of their IP. And finally, it keeps me at least from accidentally editing "anonymously" if I forgot to log in. :-P --DiGiT

Namespacing

Are you so opposed to the namespaces that you won't use them? I'm not trying to sound rude or combative about this, I'd just like to know. If it's that big of a deal, I can reconsider my decision. --DiGiT

Alright, that's OK. I'd say any time you feel the need to type "in AOK" or "(AoK)" then the namespace would be preferable instead. --DiGiT

Back again

Hey Richard, I've been busy lately with stuff so I haven't been around in a while. :) I'll write in my spare time. Genie's looking really good now. Keep up the good work! Bombar 00:36, 7 August 2006 (CDT)
