Town center

The town center is the most fundamental building in AoE or AoK. Every civilization can build a town center.
It is the only building that can create villagers and advance ages, and it is a drop-off point for all resources. It holds 4 population in AoE, and to build more than one you must create a Government Center.
In AoK it holds 5 population and can garrison 15 foot units. You can research the Loom, Town Watch, Wheelbarrow, Town Patrol, and Hand Cart technologies at an AoK Town Center, as well. To build more than one AoK Town Center, you must advance to the Castle Age.
If your first town center is destroyed before you advance to the Bronze Age and build a government center (or before you advance to the Castle Age), you can still build a new Town Center.
In typical random map games, you start with three villagers and a town center.
