Tame lion

The tame lion ('lion - tame') is very similar to the Gaia lion, but instead it must be controlled by a player. The tame lion has some unique properties which makes it a useful unit in the scenario builder.

Properties

Although belonging to a player, the AI seems to class the lion - tame as a gaia unit, which means that it won't attack tame lions, and will not react if its lion is being killed or converted, which has made it widely used in scenario design.

Use in scenario design

These properties made the tame lion widely used in scenario design, especially puzzle scenarios, for example in the first scenario of Andrea Rosa's campaign Angkor Wat and the Khmer Legacy and the second scenario in Ingo van Thiel's The Two Brothers.

Tame lions are attacked by aggressive Gaia animals, and the slow attacking alligator has been used in combination with many tame lions for timed appearances. They can also be used to manipulate the movements of Gaia animals like elephant kings, and can be hidden (e.g. behind trees) to make the trick less transparent. Interference from other units here is crucial, though.
