Individual victory
From GenieWiki
Individual victory is a type of victory condition in Age of Empires that defines what a specific player must do to win a scenario. This is edited via the Individual Victory menu in the scenario builder's interface (see below). The other related area of victory conditions is global victory, which applies to all players instead of just one.
The majority of quality scenarios tend to use individual victory as the basis for their objectives, though global victory is also sometimes used. Many unskillfully designed levels feature only the default global victory conditions, which tends to indicate a lack of creativity, and often results in drawn out gameplay in the case of conquest. Global and individual victory can both be used in the same scenario, allowing for two possible methods of winning. However if individual victory contains the only objective(s) desired it is best to disable global victory altogether. There are a total of 18 different individual victory conditions, and each player may have up to 12. All of these must be completed to win a scenario. A common complaint is that the individual victory conditions are very buggy in AoE, but this is seldom the case - a correct understanding of how they work will reveal that there are actually very few bugs.
