Help:Navigation
From GenieWiki
Navigating a wiki or finding what articles may be a daunting process for someone new to the concept of a wiki. There are several basic methods to do so:
- Search: If you know the title or author you're looking for, type it into the search bar at left and click 'Go'. If an article with that name exists, it will take you straight to it. If there isn't an article with that name, using 'Search' will find any related pages. If the page tells you that there is no page with that title, scroll down to see the close matches.
- Link: You can find an article by clicking a link to it. Such links should be present on related pages on the wiki.
- Categories: Find an author or work by finding the appropriate category (See Category:Categories)
- Random: Go to a random page by clicking on random page in the navigation menu.
Tracking changes or texts is simple on GenieWiki. The following tools are available:
- Recent changes to all articles can be listed on the Recent changes page (in the navigation menu).
- Watchlist pages by clicking the watch tab above most pages. This feature requires a registered account.
