Help:Interwiki linking

Interwiki linking allows links that work like internal links to be used for sister wikis. Interwiki links take you to an article on a different wiki and can be identified by their lighter blue colour. GenieWiki allows linking to Wikipedia using the code [[wp:Article name]] where the name of the article on Wikipedia is inserted directly after 'wp:' (or 'WP:'). Remember that [[double parentheses]] are used for interwiki linking, instead of [single parentheses], which are used for external links. An external link can still be used as well, but interwiki links are preferred when possible. Be sure to check the page you are linking to actually exists.

Examples:

• WP:Main page and Main page (Both link to the main page, the latter is piped)
• WP:Age of Empires (Wikipedia interwiki link) and Age of Empires (GenieWiki internal link)
• wp:Wolf (interwiki link) and Wolf (external link to the same article)
