Technologies help improve your civilization. They unlock new units, buildings and improve existing ones. Technologies cost various amounts of Food, Wood, Gold and Stone. Most technologies require you to be in a certain age and to have built a certain building before they can be researched. Some powerful upgrades require you to research specific technologies first.
