AOK Trigger Studio

AOK Trigger Studio is an application developed by DiGiT to supplement the Age of Empires II map editor provided by Ensemble Studios. The editor works by direct manipulation of the scenario file. It can modify more settings than the standard editor, copy and paste triggers, and allows direct hex-editing of a scenario. As of right now, it is still in beta and only truly supports Age of Empires II scenarios, though it is planned to support Age of Empires and Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds in the future. AOKTS does not support editing of SCN files used in the original Age of Kings, so The Conquerors Expansion (which uses the SCX file format) is required.

What AOKTS can do
- Decompress a scenario into a format readable by geeks.
- Place units anywhere on a map, including on the same tile as another unit.
- Place Beta units just like any other unit.
- Allow negative tributes and damages.
- Export AI files included in a scenario.
- Copy, Cut, and Paste triggers.
- Group units with custom lists, other than the 4 standard AOK groups.
What AOKTS cannot do yet (in order of priority)
- Automatically place units in 'formation' style.
- Create a scenario from scratch.
- Create common triggers using customizeable templates.
- Display a minimap with view type options.
What AOKTS will never do
- Replace the editor provided by Ensemble Studios.
- Place units graphically. (You must use map coordinates.)
- Add more effect or condition types. (This is just not possible.)
- Implement an area for Change Object Name effect.
- Make a map larger than 256x256.
